Should I Get BOTOX?
When you visit for your first treatment consult at The Pacific Coast Center for Oral, Facial & Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Elias will perform a skin examination to designate which areas would benefit from treatment. Given that BOTOX is generally a fast, outpatient procedure, your injections can often be administered in the same appointment. The formulation will be injected into the specified areas of your forehead or upper face using a small syringe. The treatment itself takes a few minutes, and many people experience only minor discomfort (like a pinching or pinprick feeling). Following your visit, you can leave our practice and go about your day.
It is common to experience a bit of mild swelling, bruising, and redness in the treatment areas, but these symptoms should not last long. Our team may suggest that you refrain from strenuous exercise and keep yourself from touching the treated areas of your face for a day or so. Over the next 48 – 72 hours, you will likely begin to notice your smooth, firm results. BOTOX injections may deliver up to four months of natural-looking, youthful aesthetic enhancements for the majority of patients. Dr. Elias will suggest how often you should undergo treatments as part of a customized plan to help you meet your cosmetic results.
