Teeth-In-An-Hour / CAD/CAM Assisted Implant Placement

TEETH-IN-AN-HOUR is a revolutionary concept providing patients with fully functioning teeth on dental implants in one single procedure that lasts about an hour or two.

This technology was recently developed by Nobel Bio-care and allows for collaboration between both the restorative doctor and the surgeon. This merging of knowledge and experience achieves not only increased safety, but also a more precise implant placement. In addition, the fabrication of a final prosthesis is completed prior to the surgery. The computer-guided implant surgery is done frequently without requiring any flap reflection. This benefits the patient in that there is less postoperative discomfort, less swelling and less bruising. Patients can often resume their normal activities the next day.

Drs. Elias, Jun, Stephens and Verratti are well trained in this technology. The process starts when a CAT scan is taken of the patient’s jaws. This can be done conveniently in our office. This CAT scan allows for the generation of an accurate three-dimensional image of the jaws that can then be used in virtual reality software to plan the implant placement, without the presence of the patient. This technology can be used to simply improve the accuracy of implant placement or to accelerate implant care. This results in more accurate implant placement, no surprises at the time of surgery, less chair time for the patient in the surgeon’s office, and frequently less patient discomfort.
